HUBUNGAN ANTARA TINGKAT PENDIDIKAN IBU DAN EFEKTIFITAS BUKU KIA DENGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU BALITA DI WILAYAH PUSKESMAS CAKRANEGARA, MATARAM

The KIA book is expected health education media that published by Department of Health that shared in giving contribution toward messages and informations related to health in general and specially for the babies mothers themselves. Giving the KIA book has been done since 2000 that means more than 6 years this programme has implicated, but in the public has not been seen yet how the function of this book in giving contribution of information to babies mothers specially in increasing the count of supervision to pregnant mother.

Based on the above mentioned problems, researcher wish to know how far the effectiveness of KIA book as KIE media for babies mothers toward increasing the knowledge of mothers in Cakranegara Central Society Health area. The purpose of this research was to know the relationship among the education degree and effectiveness of KIA book with the education of babies mothers in area of it. The result of this research was expected to be used as an input and related institution consideration especially in evaluating the uses of KIA book. The research has been done in Cakranegara Central Society Health area, Mataram. The research based on its problems was included in descriptive analytic research because it gave the description and analysis the factors which influenced the educational degrees of babies mothers.

This population in this research were all babies mothers who live in Cakranegara Central Society Helth area and have KIA book and able to read and write. The samples were the babies mothers in Cakranegara Central Society Health area who have KIA book and have been check up at the time of research which were 34 babies mothers. The relationship of educational degree of babies mothers and the effectiveness of KIA book with the knowledgment of mother about KIA book was made of crossed tables that it was analyzed by using test of Chi Square on SPSS program for Windows Version 11.0 on <!–[if gte msEquation 12]>α<![endif]–> = 0,05

The result of research indicate that the good education degree will have good of health degree also. Based on the result of statistic test which has been done through Chi Square test at <!–[if gte msEquation 12]>α<![endif]–> = 0,05 produced that p = 0,045. It means H1 accept and refuse Ho. By the others statement, there was any relationship among educational degree with knopwledgment degree of babies mothers about KIA book.
